The Kannada and Culture Department and the Kannada Book Authority, Bengaluru, will organise a two-day State-level Dalit Yuva Sahitya Mela here from Friday.
Mahadevaiah, administrative officer of the authority, told presspersons on Thursday said that writer Mogalli Ganesh would inaugurate the mela. Channanna Walikar would preside over the function and chairman of the authority, Banjgere Jayaprakash, would deliver the keynote address.

Appagere Somashekar, Amruta Katke, Ghaleppa Pujari, I.S. Vidyasagar and Laxmandas would speak on topics related to Dalit Woman, Dalit Literature, educational status of the Hyderabad Karnataka region, Constitution and reservation, and ‘New paths for Dalit movements in Karnataka’. As many as 98 budding writers and poets from Hyderabad Karnataka region would participate in the programme, Mr. Mahadevaiah said.
