Condemning Governor Vajubhai Vala’s invitation to BJP to form the government in the State, members of the Karnataka Yuva Dalit Sangharsha Samiti staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Hassan on Wednesday. The protesters demanded the removal of Mr. Vajubhai Vala from his post.
“By inviting the BJP, which does not have the required number of MLAs to form the government, the Governor has allowed the BJP to start corrupt practices to woo MLAs. The Governor has insulted the people’s mandate”, said Krishna Das, a DSS leader. The protesters also blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the present scenario. They alleged that he had been supporting his party leaders for all sorts of unethical practices to woo MLAs of other parties. “In the interest of the State the JD(S)-Congress combine should be allowed to form the government,” they demanded.
The protesters also submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner P.C. Jaffer.
Celebrations
Meanwhile, BJP workers gathered at Hemavathi Statue Circle in the town to celebrate as B.S.Yeddyurappa took oath as the Chief Minister around 9 a.m. They distributed sweets and burst crackers.
