Copter, plane for leaders

The JD(S) is already in poll mode for 2018 and is planning to take the air route for its campaign.

According to party sources, some “party well-wishers” have decided to hire a eight-seater chartered plane for one year and a helicopter to facilitate JD(S) star campaigners, party supremo H.D. Deve Gowda and State president H.D. Kumaraswamy, to cover all 224 constituencies.

Mr. Kumaraswamy told The Hindu that considering the difficulty of leaders to cover all the constituencies, some party well wishers had stepped in.

“The chopper will be with us in probability by this month-end and talks on hiring a plane are almost finalised,” he said.

A senior party leader said that it was necessary because of the age factor of Mr. Gowda and Mr. Kumaraswamy’s health.
