The program organised to waive off co-operative loans taken by farmers who have died due to various reasons and to distribute Loan Waiver certificates to the beneficiaries turned into an occasion to bat for Madhugiri MLA, K.N. Rajanna as a Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Chief Minister.

Tumakuru District Co-operative Central Bank had organised a function at Gubbi Veeranna Rangamandira here on Monday to distribute Loan Waiver certificates (Debt Relief certificates) to the 1,160 families of the deceased farmers in the district who had taken co-operative loans upto Rs. 1 lakh. The total loan amount waived off is Rs. 3.24 crore.

Mr. Rajanna in his speech said that he is not interested either becoming Deputy Chief Minister or Chief Minister but certainly wants to be a Minister.

He said he do not want to become Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) as two persons from the district are waiting to become DCM.

He expressed confidence in retaining his post in the next DCC bank election to be held in June, 2015.

He said DCC bank will continue co-operative loan waiver program of the deceased farmers in the name of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and said co-operative sector must be free from politics so that the poor and the needy can be helped.
