A constable attached to Hubballi Town Police Station was suspended on Tuesday for reportedly sharing a post on Facebook seeking the Chief Minister’s resignation over the farm loan issue.

Arun Dollin had reportedly shared a post which read “ 18 dina aadru saala manna maadilla, Kumaraswamiyavare raajiname yaavaaga ” (Even after 18 days there is no loan waiver, Mr. Kumaraswamy, when will be your resignation).

Several took exception to the post and subsequently various news channels had telecast a story on the issue.

Police Commissioner M.N. Nagaraj said that following reports on the post, the constable had been suspended pending inquiry as such behaviour was unbecoming of a police officer.

Meanwhile those visiting Mr. Dollin’s Facebook account following the controversy found that there was no such post. Police sources said the constable had reportedly shared several posts that supported the BJP and against Congress and JD(S).
