The district Congress committee has condemned the alleged hate politics pursued by the National Democratic Alliance government against Congress-ruled States.

The activists, led by district unit president Vinay Balappa Navalgatti, took out a procession and staged a demonstration at Rani Chennmma Circle on Monday and accused the Centre of a “step-motherly” treatment towards Karnataka.

The Centre was not willing to resolve the long-pending dispute on the sharing of the Mahadayi waters between Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra, which was delaying the implementation of the Kalasa-Banduri nala diversion project aimed at supplying drinking water to water-starved cities, towns and villages in north Karnatska districts.

Memorandum

The DCC members submitted a memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee through the Deputy Commissioner’s office requesting a direction to the Union government against discrimination against Congress governments.
