Confusion at KCCI over bandh call

September 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - HUBBALLI:

A press conference called by the Karnatak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) to announce a ‘separate call’ for a Hubballi-Dharwad bandh on Wednesday ended in confusion with a few organisations taking exception to it.

As soon as the president of KCCI Vasant Ladawa and other office-bearers made the announcement calling for a Hubballi-Dharwad bandh over the IIT issue, the representatives of other organisations took exception to making announcement without having a discussion over it.

They said they were against giving a bandh call without discussing the need for giving such a call.

Then, Devanand Jagapur of the Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union, Vikas Soppin of the Kalasa Banduri Horata Samanvaya Samiti, and Mahesh Pattar of CITU walked out of the room.
