Geeta Kulkarni, president, NEKRTC Employees Credit Cooperative Society Ltd., in Kalaburagi has lodged a complaint against the society’s former president and committee members for misusing their powers by purchasing land directly on their names, instead of on that of the Society.

Ms. Kulkarni, in her complaint to the Station Bazar police station recently, alleged that four members, including former president Shivanna S. Kamthan, former director Raghvendra Kulkarni, former secretary Devaraj S. Chour, and former vice-president Chandamma Gola, have purchased a land spread over an area of 4.37 acres near Keri Bhosga on the outskirts of the city for allotting sites to members between 2009 and 2014.

She alleged that Mr. Kamthan had misused employees’ funds deposited in the society by getting the property registered in his name and receiving money from the members and general public under the guise of allotting the sites. Though the land was registered in 2012, the society had not allotted sites to any members, Ms. Kulkarni held. Around 4.37 acres of land was purchased at a cost of ₹5 lakh per acre. She alleged that Mr. Kamthan had not handed over the documents of purchase of land to the society after his period was completed.
