Raj Raghavan, Director and Country HR Leader of Amazon India, has emphasised the importance for companies to have a “customer-centric approach”.
Delivering a talk at a recent programme organised by Myra School of Business here, Mr. Raghavan said the company’s decisions were taken keeping only the customer in mind.
Myra School of Business issued a statement quoting Mr. Raghavan, “Their board meetings are held with empty chair that represents the customer, and their decisions are based on the discussions that would meet the customer ‘sitting’ in that chair.”
The three pillars on which Amazon achieves its mission are “Customer obsession, Innovation to simplify, and Leaders who think long-term”, he said.
Mr. Raghavan was also quoted as having said that Amazon worked to meet the needs of its millions of consumers, sellers, content creators, developers and enterprises by coming up with innovative solutions to make things easier, faster, better and cost-effective.
He also said their company had a number of projects that facilitate disbursal of loans to local entrepreneurs to purchase delivery trucks and two-wheelers that ensure timely and quick delivery of products.
