The district administration and officials of Zilla Panchayat, Agriculture, Hubballi Electricity Supply Company, Animal Husbandry, Belagavi City Corporation, Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board and various other departments are gearing for a review meeting on drought conditions to be conducted by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha here on Monday.
Mr. Siddaramaiah will arrive at the airport at 9-30 a.m. and review the drought conditions and measures taken to provide relief to the affected people in villages from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. After lunch, he would visit some of the drought-hit villages of the district till 6-30 p.m. and leave for Dharwad for overnight stay, according to an official communication here on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a district control room has been opened at the Office of the Executive Engineer, Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation department, at Kolhapur Circle, where an official, B.H. Lakkanavar, has been deputed to respond to public grievances. The public may register their grievances at Ph.No.0831-2420835. A control room has also been set up at Belagavi Taluk Panchayat office with Ph.No.0831-2407229.
