Chief Minister Siddaramaiah scoffed at the oft-repeated statement by BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa of releasing documents that show the CM had indulged in corruption.

“What documents does he [Yeddyurappa] have? Not a single first information report has been filed against me, Neither me nor my government have indulged in corruption and there has been no scam too. Let Mr. Yeddyurappa get all the charges levelled against him, including denotification, cases pending before the Supreme Court, cleared,” he said.

Mr. Siddaramaiah was at the Ginigera airport for a brief technical halt enroute Vijayapura district on Sunday.

Hitting back at Mr. Yeddyurappa for stating that they would fight until K.C. Venugopal, AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka, was recalled following allegations sexual harassment against him in Kerala, Mr. Siddaramaiah said even Amit Shah, BJP national president, had no moral right to continue in the post as his son was also facing allegations.

“Mr. Venugopal has denied the allegations made against him stating that they were baseless. If BJP wants to raise the issue to gain political mileage, then we will also demand that Mr. Shah quit the post in the wake of serious allegations made against his son,” he said.

‘Most irresponsible’

Mr. Siddaramaiah described as ‘most irresponsible’ the statement reportedly made by former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy accusing the Siddaramaiah government of collecting money through ‘goons’ at check posts.

“After the Goods and Service Tax (GST) was introduced, we have ordered a closure of check posts. Such being the situation, Mr. Kumaraswamy hurling such baseless allegations is most irresponsible,” he said.
