Cloud seeding operations remained grounded on Monday as the sole flight engaged in the programme underwent maintenance.

Since the start of the operations a week ago, numerous problems have beset the ₹35-crore Project Varshadhari.

After delays owing to confusion over GST rates applicable for the imported weather-monitoring radars, the plane saw restrictions from Air Traffic Controllers at Kempegowda International Airport, HAL and Yelahanka airport did not give permission to fly over certain parts of the airspace. However, officials hoped that the radar being set up at Gadag, expected to be commissioned on Wednesday, will see the project extend to north Karnataka too.
