The results of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2013, held on May 26, were declared on Saturday.
Candidates who have qualified in the prelims are eligible to take up the Civil Services (Main) Examination, which will be held from December 1.
“The cut-off last year was a little more than 200, and this year it could have been around 210 in the general category,” said Rajesh Saraf, course director, CSAT, Triumphant Institute of Management Education.
Candidates who have qualified now have to apply again in the Detailed Application Form (CSM) for the Main examination which will be available on the Union Public Service Commission website >www.upsc.gov.in . The applications have to be submitted between August 20 and September 10. For any information on the results, call 011-23385271 or 011-23381125 on all working days between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The CS (Main) Examination will have a new pattern — there will be four compulsory papers of 250 marks each of General Studies instead of two, candidates have to select only one optional subject instead of two and the essay paper of 200 marks will have one more section of 100 marks on English language.
The CS (Main) Examination will be for 1800 marks.
