CONTEMPORARY CONCERNS: Though the play was first staged in the 1970s, its message is still very relevant.

The Tamil political satire, Endru Thaniyum Intha Sudhanthira Dhagam , penned by the redoubtable Cho S. Ramaswamy, will be performed in the city on Sunday.

The play deals with the implementation of democracy in heaven and the chaos that follows.

It lampoons the state of contemporary politics in India.

Though the play was first staged in the 1970s, its message is still very much relevant, said the theatre group, United Visuals, in a press release.

United Visuals is headed by theatre and television personality T.V Varadherajen. One of his plays, Elavasa Enaippu , won six awards from the Mylapore Academy.

Endru Thaniyam Intha Sudhanthira Dhagam will be staged at 6.30 p.m. at Thirum Alai Vidhya Niketan Hall in Malleswaram.
