CESC caution on online payment of bills

January 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - MYSURU:

The public has been cautioned against the online payment of electricity bills through private websites.

In a release, the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) said that the online payment option of electricity bills through CESC’s official website – www.cescmysore.org – was yet to become operational.

However, the management has learnt that some consumers were paying bills through private websites. Charges paid through these websites had not been credited to the CESC account so far. “The CESC has not executed any agreement with private websites for accepting its consumers’ electricity bill,” said the release.

Hence the CESC appealed to the public to use the CESC official website when it becomes operational after the installation of the software and not through private websites.

It added that the CESC was not responsible for the loss accrued to consumers due to the use of private party websites for the payment of bills.
