The Robertsonpet police at Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) registered a case against a teacher for submitting false caste certificate to get job in a government school.

The case was registered following a complaint filed by the Civil Rights Enforcement Directorate against Lakshmi, working as a teacher with Government Lower Primary School at Saldana Circle in KGF.

The sub-inspector of the Directorate, Venkatesh, in his complaint said that Lakshmi, a native of Chittapur taluk in Kalaburgi, claimed during recruitment that she belongs to Hindu Madiga, a scheduled caste community though she is Christian.

She has cheated the government by making false claims in connection with caste and misused the reservation facility of scheduled caste, the complaint said. Documents were forged to claim that she belonged to Hindu Madiga community, the Directorate official said in the complaint.
