Call for pension, social security for photographers

Ajay Singh, MLA, stressed the need to extend social security benefit schemes to senior photographers and said that he would take up the matter with the State government for extending monthly pension benefits to them.

Inaugurating a World Photography Day programme, organised by the Kalaburagi District Photographers Association here on Wednesday, Mr. Ajay Singh said that a delegation led by the former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh would meet Chief Minister Siddaramaiah demanding the same and other social security benefits to senior photographers.

Mr. Ajay Singh said that a proposal would be made to the Hyderabad Karnataka Region Development Board (HKRDB) for providing a civic amenity site to the association and to allocate adequate funds for taking up construction of the Photographer’s Bhavan in Kalaburagi.

Contribution lauded

Lauding the contributions of senior photographers, Mr. Ajay Singh said that each picture captured by a photographer would be a document to trace the historical event.

Felicitation

The association felicitated seven senior photographers including A.S. Kalamadi, Prabhakar Kulkarni, Babu Miya, Parameshwar Vachanalagi, Narasingh Rao, Veerayya Swamy and Rajashekar Ronnad on the occasion.
