BSNL employees stage protest

The employees of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) staged protest demonstration outside BSNL office here on Wednesday demanding the Union government to provide necessary technical equipments, compensation to BSNL for loss making rural services and advanced technology to start 4G services.

The secretary of district unit of National Federation of Telecom Employees, M. Rajakumar demanded the government to give them proper technical equipments to provide better services to the people, allot spectrum free to BSNL, to fill the posts of Directors in BSNL and reject anti-BSNL and anti-worker recommendations of Deloitte Committee.

District General Secretary of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), N.K. Subramanya alleged that the Union government is deliberately delaying to provide advanced technology to help corporate companies.

The two-day strike which started on Tuesday will end on Wednesday evening.
