Bridge course in Science for SSLC students

April 20, 2012 11:26 am | Updated 11:26 am IST - Bangalore:

In a bid to prepare the students of the first batch of I pre-university course who will be studying national curriculum for Science, the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) has announced a slew of measures.

In a press release, the DPUE has stated that under the ongoing VIKASANA (Vidyarthigala Kanasu Samarthavagi Nanasagali) series, a programme called ‘Vignana Pathadedege Nimma Nadige', Bridge Course programme for SSLC students who want to take up Science in I PUC in 2012, has been planned. The programme is aimed at removing fear about Science from the minds of SSLC students, instill confidence in them and equip them well to study the new syllabus before they join I PUC. Through the programme, the DPUE also intends to convey the message that Science education is inexpensive and available to all and to do away with the notion that tuitions are a pre-requisite for it.

The Bridge Course will be imparted to students through tele-coaching mode on Doordarshan's Chandana channel.

The programme will be telecast everyday between 7 a.m. and 7.45 a.m. till July 14. (The detailed schedule and presentations are available on www.pue.kar.nic.in and www.kea.kar.nic.in)

In case of doubts and queries, students may write to commissioner.pue@gmail.com.
