Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Pushpavathi Gowda Kulvaje on Wednesday defeated Congress candidate Bhageerati Kusumadhara Gowda in the by-election for the Bellandur seat of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat. Voting was held on Sunday.
Pushpavathi Gowda secured 10,966 votes, while Congress candidate Bhageerati Gowda secured 7,446 votes. Counting was held on Wednesday.
