The Bharatiya Janata Party’s ‘Vistarak’ campaign, aimed at establishing direct contact with the people ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections, will be organised in the district from July 10 to 25, S. Rudre Gowda, district party unit president, said.
As many as 1,200 people will serve as vistaraks, or full-time workers, in the district. As part of the campaign, the vistaraks will conduct door-to-door visits in each of 1,704 polling booths in the district to spread awareness on the achievements of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre, he said at a press conference in the city.
Mr. Gowda said B.S. Yeddyurapppa, president of the BJP’s State unit, would take part in the campaign on July 11 and 12. On July 11, Mr. Yeddyurappa will conduct door-to-door visits in Hosanagar taluk, and on the next day he will go to Shikaripur taluk.
As part of the campaign, cleanliness drives, interactive sessions with college students, and visits to the houses of ex-servicemen will be organised. During the door-to-door visits, the vistaraks will also strive to enrol members to the party, he added.
