July 10, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - HUBBALLI:

The Hubballi police detained 15 BJP activists when they tried to block the Chief Minister’s convoy outside the Hubballi Airport on Saturday.

The incident occurred during a protest, led by president of the Hubballi-Dharwad Mahanagar Zilla unit of the party Nagesh Kalburgi, seeking resignation of Minister for Bengaluru Development K.J. George following allegation of harassment against him by deceased Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy.

BJP activists raised slogans after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah landed at the airport and started to proceed towards Haveri to participate in a function there. As they tried to disrupt the movement of the convoy, the police detained the activists and cleared the way. They were subsequently released.
