‘Beeja jatre’ to be held at Mandya on August 8, 9

To promote the use of indigenous seed varieties among farmers, the Sahaja Samruddha is organising a two-day “ beeja jatre ” under the aegis of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development and Vikasana at Guru Bhavan here from August 8, G. Krishnaprasad of Sahaja Samrudha told presspersons here on Tuesday.

At least 30 native seed collectors and progressive farmers from across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu will display traditional varieties of rice and millets during the festival, sources said.
