Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday unveiled the logo of the eight-day Bengaluru International Film Festival, organised by the Department of Information, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and the Karnataka Film Academy, commencing here on December 26.
Mr. Siddaramaiah said that the festival would provide an opportunity to film connoisseurs to watch and enjoy 145 films from 45 countries and their quality, technology, technicalities, outdoor settings, artistes, culture and lifestyle.
The government would release Rs. 2 crore for the festival, he said.
Leading film celebrities such as Kamal Haasan, Malini Fonseka MP from Sri Lanka, Goran Paskaljevic from Serbia, Pouran Derekshande from Iran, Jeffry Juterian from the Philippines, Dharmasena Pathiraja from Sri Lanka, Rajesh Gongaju from Nepal, Golam Biplob from Bangladesh, Juris Poskus from Latvia, Heinz Badewitz and Pola Beck from Germany and Taru Makela from Finland would participate in the festival.
He said that all the films would be shown at one place during the festival. Delegates could register their names with KFCC, Crescent Road, Information Department, Infantry Road, Biffes Office, Badami House, and Suchitra Film Society, Banashankari Stage II. A curtain-raiser seminar will be organised in the third week of December. Master classes will be conducted by cinema experts and a poster exhibition on 100 years of Indian cinema will be presented by DAVP.
