A newborn boy is suspected to have been kidnapped from the government hospital at Kolar Gold Fields (KGF). Members of various organisations staged a protest in front of the hospital condemning the alleged negligence of authorities.

Mala, a resident of Chaldiganahalli, delivered the baby at 9 p.m. on Friday. However, the mother and other relatives noticed early on Saturday morning that the child had disappeared. Mala’s husband Ravi, other relatives and the hospital staff searched for the child, but did not find him. The relatives accused the hospital staff of negligence.

District Health Officer S.N. Vijaykumar and KGF Superintendent of Police B.S. Lokeshkumar visited the hospital. Dr. Vijaykumar met hospital authorities. CCTV cameras show a woman moving around in a suspicious manner. She is suspected to have kidnapped the baby. The Robertsonpet police registered a kidnapping case under Section 363 of the IPC.
