Two artists from Mumbai - Anu Pavanje and Chithra Mitra - would be displaying their paintings at an art exhibition titled “Anu-Chithra” at the Aditi Gallery at Kunjibettu here on January 24 and 25.
Vanita Pai of Manipal Technologies would inaugurate the exhibition. Vishal R., Deputy Commissioner, and Annamalai K., Superintendent of Police would be the chief guests. Another highlight of the exhibition is that during the inaugural, Mr. Mitra would create a giant painting within minutes.
Ms. Pavanje likes to paint Mysore style of painting, miniature art and ornamentation. Mr. Mitra, a self taught artist, specializes in caricature, realistic painting and live demo. On January 24 there would be an additional event of “Art For U”, where art lovers can take home a drawing made on the spot by Mr. Mitra, upon a token donation to Aditi Trust. Students from all art schools in Udupi would interact with the two artists on January 25.
The exhibition would be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, according to a press release issued here by Praveena Mohan, Curator of Gallery Aditi, and Kiran Acharya, Managing Trustee of Aditi Trust.
