The K.R. Pet taluk administration has launched another anti-encroachment drive in the taluk.
A team led by K.R. Pet Tahsildar, H.L. Shivaram, on Saturday launched a drive to clear encroachments on Dyavanakatte and Koratikere lakes in the Bharatipura Cross Gram Panchayat limits, sources in the Revenue Department said.
According to the sources, a few local farmers had allegedly encroached about five acres of land of the Koratikere lake and some portions of Dyavanakatte lake. The officials conducted the drive and recovered land worth rupees several lakh from the alleged encraochers.
Meanwhile, Mr. Shivaram has requested the people to voluntarily remove their structures/crops from government lands and lakes in the taluk.
Cleared
The taluk administration had cleared illegal encroachments from the historic Devirammannai tank, Sadhugonahalli lake and Amachanahalli lake beds in K.R. Pet taluk recently.
