Alvares Mar Julius, Noronha, declared ‘blessed saints’

Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicos of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, declared the late Alvares Mar Julius Archbishop, founder of Brahmavar Konkani Orthodox community, and late Fr. R. Z. Noronha, first Vicar General of St. Mary’s Orthodox Syrian Cathedral, Brahmavar, as ‘blessed saints’ during a mass at the SMS Auditorium at Brahmavar in Udupi district on Sunday.

According to a press release issued here, a large number of devotees, priests, and family members of Fr. Noronaha attended the ceremony. The Catholicos said that Fr. Alvares Mar Julius and Fr. R.Z. Noronha had rendered their service with great devotion and sacrifice. They had worked towards uniting the Christian community. People should follow their ideals, he said.
