Actions sought against officials

Zilla Valmiki Sangha has demanded action against Social Welfare Department officials and others officials for allegedly misusing and diverting grants released for the welfare of the Scheduled Tribes community in Kadechur, Bomuaral Doddi and Badiyal villages in Yadgir taluk. Addressing a press conference here recently, Mareppa Naik Mogdampur, district president of the sangha, alleged that Rs. 37 lakh released for development works for the ST community was misused by officials of Social Welfare Department, who are the nodal officers of implementing projects under Special Component Plan and Tribal Sub Plan, Panchayat Raj and Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited.
