ACF facing problems

The Assistant Conservator of Forests, who unearthed the alleged encroachment of forest areas by an honorary wildlife warden in the Muthodi range in Chikkamgaluru, is stated to be facing the ire of his senior officers for his action.

G. Venkatesh, Assistant Conservator of Forests of the mobile squad, is stated to have received a show-cause notice from the Deputy Conservator of Forests for filing a case against D.S. Satish Gowda, honorary wildlife warden, and informing the media about violation of norms committed by Mr. Satish Gowda.

Notice issued

Mr. Venkatesh, after conducting a raid at Sirivase village in Chikkamgaluru, had filed a case against Mr. Satish Gowda on January 15. A report on the incident had appeared in these columns on January 17. However, senior officers of the department are now finding fault with Mr. Venkatesh’s action. M.S.Manik, Deputy Conservator of Forests, has issued a notice to Mr. Venkatesh in this regard.
