From a steaming cup in the morning or evening (or both) to a philately collection that smells of its aroma, how far does your appreciation for coffee go? The release of a commemorative fragrance stamp dedicated to the aromatic brew, which was released on Sunday, makes the latter possible too.
What goes into your collection is a rich brown-hued stamp that celebrates coffee in its various stages — as a humble bean to the irresistible brew in a pot — all the while not letting you lose out on the aroma that captures every coffee lover’s imagination.
The design of the stamp, which was kept under the wraps, was unveiled by Minister of State for Communications Manoj Sinha and Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman at the General Post Office here. A miniature sheet of the commemorative postage stamp is available for ₹100.
India introduced its first aromatic stamp in 2006, with a ₹15 sandalwood-scented stamp, followed by rose-scented stamps in four varieties of the flower in 2007 at ₹5 each, and a jasmine fragrance in 2008.
