About 50 people on Thursday performed the controversial made snana at the Prasanna Subramanya temple as part of Prasanna Subramanya Rathotsava at Ramanathapura in Arakalgud taluk. The temple belongs to Samputa Narasimha Math of Kukke in Dakshina Kannada district.

The devotees rolled over plantain leaves of leftover of meals. This has been practiced for many years in the temple. However, it was not done last year following controversies over the practice. Following recent Karnataka High Court’s ruling, refusing to order cancelling the practice, Made Snana was held at Kukke Subramanya temple. Similarly, here too the practice continued without any opposition. However, the number of devotees taking part in Made Snana was less compared to previous years. Hundreds of devotees from different parts took part in the Rathotsava.
