Four persons were killed in two accidents in the district on Friday.
While two persons died on the spot when a truck ran over them near Kadakola on the Mysore-Nanjangud Road, two others were killed when the tractor in which they were travelling overturned near Sosale in T. Narsipura taluk.
In the first accident, Manjunath of Nerale village and Murthy of Nanjangud, both said to be in their mid-30s, were run over by a truck after they fell off their two-wheeler that skidded on a rain-lashed road near Kadakola. Traffic was affected for some time. The bodies were shifted to the government hospital and the road cleared for traffic. The truck driver has been held.
In the second accident, two labourers, Doreswamy Nayaka (40) and Malla Nayaka (45) of Kodasoge village in Gundlupet taluk of Chamarajanagar district, died when the tractor in which they were travelling overturned at a steep curve. They were headed towards Purigali from Sosale. There were nine people in the tractor, of whom five sustained injuries and were shifted to the K.R. Hospital for treatment while two others escaped with minor injuries.
