Sixteen persons from Mysuru district sustained injuries when a mini-van carrying them overturned near Kesarakki Halla near Muthathi picnic spot in the district on Saturday.
According to the police, the victims are from Hullahalli near Nanjangud. They attended a temple fair at Chikkallur, and were heading to Muthuraya Temple in Muthathi in Malavalli taluk.
The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a small curve, Halagur police said.
The mini-van overturned near Kesarakki Halla near Malavalli, R. Shivakumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Malavalli subdivision), told The Hindu .
While two suffered severe injuries, 14 others sustained minor injuries. The injured have been rushed to hospitals in Malavalli and Mysuru, the police said.
A case has been registered.
