There is no trace of 13 persons, family members of a senior journalist M.G. Sitharam, from Maddur who have been declared missing in the flash floods and landslips in Uttarakhand.

Eighteen persons from Mr. Sitharam’s family from Kote Beedhi in Maddur were on a pilgrimage to Uttarakhand. Among them, only five, including Mr. Sitharam, were rescued and airlifted. The others are still missing. The district administration had sent Maddur tahsildar H.L. Nagaraj to help. However, Mr. Nagaraj left Uttarakhand on Tuesday as he could not trace the victims.
