United Jihad Council (UJC) chief Syed Salahuddin on Thursday hailed Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s speech at the United Nations.

“The way Mr. Sharif effectively raised the Kashmir issue and talked about right to self-determination of the Kashmiris boosted the morale of people of occupied Kashmir, and, after a long time, they felt that Pakistan is not only a party to the Kashmir dispute but their advocate and well-wisher as well,” said Mr. Salahuddin in a statement issued from the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Mr. Salahuddin also lauded the role of Turkey and China for backing Pakistan on Kashmir issue and warned of “serious ramifications” if India attacked Pakistan.

“On the pretext of Uri attack, warmongers in India are mulling attack on Pakistan. If that happens, it will have serious ramifications for India,” he warned.

Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also hailed Pakistan’s stand on Kashmir at the United Nations.
