Kanchi Mutt senior pontiff Jayendra Sarawswathi has been discharged from a private hospital in Chennai after treatment for exhaustion. He was discharged from Sri Ramachandra Hospital on February 3 and is presently taking rest following the advice of doctors. He is now camping at Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam’s “Shakaralayam” premises at Chetpet in the city, hospital sources told PTI on Wednesday.

The Seer was hospitalised on February 2 in Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh after he complained of drowsiness and weakness. He had gone to Nellore to attend spiritual programmes, including performance of a ritual at Chandramouleeswara Swamy temple. The 79-year-old seer was shifted to Ramachandra Hospital at Porur near Chennai on Monday.
