A commando of the Maharashtra police’s special anti-Maoist unit C-60 was killed and 19 suffered injuries in an IED explosion triggered by Maoists in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra on Wednesday night. This was the fourth such incident in Gadchiroli district bordering Chhattisgarh in the last 48 hours.
“The Maoists blasted the mine protecting vehicle in which the C-60 men were travelling. One jawan was killed and 19 suffered injuries,” said Shivaji Bodkhe, Inspector-General of Maharashtra Police.
The deceased jawan was identified as Suresh Telami of Bhamragad.
