External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Wednesday that an Indian who was kidnapped by pirates in March has been rescued.
“I am extremely happy to inform that Santosh Bhardwaj has been rescued from pirates in Nigeria,” she said in a tweet with a picture of Mr. Bhardwaj’s wife Kanchan.
Mr. Bhardwaj was kidnapped along with four colleagues from different countries from their ship Sampatiki around 30 nautical miles off the Nigerian capital Lagos. — PTI
