India must press for release of hostages, says ICRC

Government must make it clear it holds them ‘very valuable’

India must press for the release of 40 men who went missing in Mosul, Iraq, more than seven months back and there “is every reason to hope that they are alive” says Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Yves Daccord.

In an interview to The Hindu , Mr. Daccord said: “It is important to keep pursuing the case, letting those who may be holding them know that these 40 men are very valuable to India.”
