IJU removes secretary-general

K. Sreenivas Reddy has been removed as secretary-general of the Indian Journalists Union (IJU) for his “anti-union and disruptive activities.”

The National Executive Committee of IJU, which met in Chandigarh on Sunday, unanimously resolved to remove Mr. Reddy. IJU president Suresh Akhouri, in a press release issued from Chandigarh, said the meeting attended by presidents and general secretaries of 18 IJU-affiliated State unions decided to disaffiliate the Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists and the Tamil Nadu Union of Journalists (TUJ) for anti-IJU activities.
