Amid fears that the government may forcibly hospitalise him, Anna Hazare urged his followers at Ramlila Maidan not to resist any attempt by the police to remove him from the protest venue. "Our movement must be peaceful at all costs, the government's strategy is to provoke violence and we must ensure that does not happen", he said in an emotional address before midnight on Wednesday.

In the event that he was arrested or forcibly hospitalised, Mr. Hazare urged his supporters to assemble in their thousands outside the homes of Members of Parliament in a peaceful protest to force them to back the creation of a strong and effective Lokpal.
