Asked to explain his outburst against the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership, senior BJP leader Arun Shourie said on Tuesday that he would give a clarification.
If there is any ambiguity and the party president and others have asked for clarification, I will clarify. There is no problem, Mr. Shourie told reporters. He said he had not received any notice from the party leadership and that he had come to know about the partys decision to seek a clarification from him through the media.
I will see the written document that they would have sent, he said. I am in touch with them. Meri puri tarah se kutti nahi hui [My ties with party have not snapped], the former Union Minister said.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Shourie refused to speak further on the happenings in the BJP. I will not say anything. Whatever I have said, I have said... I will speak when the party takes a view [on the issue].
The BJP leadership has given no time-frame to Mr. Shourie to respond to the notice.
