The hearing on the bail application of the former Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Amit Shah, scheduled to come up on Wednesday before the special CBI court, has been postponed to August 17.

The hearing was re-scheduled after Mr. Shah's advocate, Mitesh Amin, informed the court that the senior Supreme Court advocate, Ram Jethmalani, would not be able to appear before the court to plead for the former Minister's bail and requested for a new date. The court has fixed the hearing on August 17.

The hearing on the CBI application for remand of Rajendra Jirawala, owner of a farm house near Gandhinagar where Kausar bi, wife of Sohrabuddin, was allegedly lodged and later killed, will be taken up on August 18. Jirawala was arrested earlier this month and was directly send to judicial custody by the court.
