David Coleman Headley, arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the U.S. for allegedly plotting a major terror attack in India at the behest of the LeT, had visited India, including Mumbai, for a number of times, Union Home Secretary G. K.Pillai said here on Sunday.
``We do know that Headley had visited India a number of times. That is being investigated,” he told reporters on the sidelines of a seminar. Mr. Pillai said that Headley had been in Mumbai and some other places. It is yet to be ascertained if he was in any way connected to 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai.
David Headley was arrested last month at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. FBI had also arrested Tahawwur Hussain Rana, 48, a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin, in the case, who was said to have been planning attacks on the National Defence College in Delhi.
