BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Thursday met L K Advani, who is apparently unhappy over the BJP President’s continuance in his post, to wish him on his birthday.
Mr. Gadkari met Mr. Advani at his residence. The meeting between the two lasted for 15 minutes.
Delhi BJP leader Vijay Jolly, who was present on the occasion, said, “The atmosphere was very cordial when Gadkari met Advani. Gadkari touched Advani’s feet and sought his blessings“.
The meeting comes against the backdrop of divisions persisting within BJP over the continuance of Mr. Gadkari as its president even as its Core Group on Tuesday yet again stood behind him insisting that there was “no legal or moral wrongdoing” by him in the running of his company.
However, Mr. Advani had kept away from the party’s Core Group and General Secretaries meeting as he was apparently unhappy over Mr. Gadkari’s continuance in the post.
Mr. Gadkari has been under attack from various quarters after a media expose of the alleged dubious funding of a company run by him. He has refused to quit as BJP chief maintaining that he has offered himself for any probe on the issue.
Meanwhile, party workers on Thursday gathered at Mr. Advani’s residence to greet him on his 85th birthday.
Advanji, Wish you a happy birthday. You should live for many more years
to guide the destiny of India. Try to counsel your colleagues in to not
giving one more term for Mr.Gadkari.Otherwise BJP is sure to lose
heavily in the next National Elections.Your leadership of the Party is
required now to ensure a thorough clean up of the Organization.
The President of any Party has the Responsibility to ensure that the Party's Image is NOT Tarnished by any one or by any deeds .
IF the President himself is Accused of Wrong Doing in Massive Scales -Especially when the Party IS fighting Elections in states
they are in Power- the Least he can do to help the party is take a
Leave of Absence for few months which will enable him CLEAR his
reputation and Come Back with GREATER AUTHORITY.IT IS NOT TO BE.
Combine this obstinacy with the Foot in the Mouth utterances of another Senior Leader-Mr.Modi- who is doing his BEST to alienate
even those who ARE with the party.
