Fire continued to rage from an IOC fuel storage tank on Wednesday on the seventh day of the devastating inferno in Sitapura area here, officials said.

“The fire will probably die down completely by tomorrow morning,” Ishwar Lal Jat, Chief Fire Officer said.

A major fire had engulfed eleven IOC fuels tanks on Thursday and the flames have died down in all but one tank, he said.

The fire may die down by this evening if its lids break due to pressure as happened in another fuel tank late Tuesday night, Mr. Jat said.

Meanwhile, traffic, in the radius of 500 m of the site, remained closed as a safety measure, and the situation will be reviewed in the evening, a district administration official said.
