The CBI has informed the Bombay High Court that it is thoroughly investigating allegations against Vilasrao Deshmukh and Sushil Kumar Shinde, former Maharashtra Chief Ministers and present Union Ministers, in the Adarsh Housing scam.
In an affidavit, the CBI has informed the Bombay High Court that the investigation against the two leaders is based on the based on the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).
Social activist, Pravin Wategaonkar, had in April this year filed an affidavit before the High Court based on the CAG report alleging that Mr. Deshmukh owns two proxy flats in the scam-tainted Adarsh Society in south Mumbai.
In the affidavit, filed by Ravindra Singh, Superintendent of Police, the CBI said, “I say that the reference made by the petitioner (Mr. Wategaonkar) about the report of CAG on Adarsh Society, which has brought out certain acts of commission and omission on part of public servants, are being thoroughly investigated by CBI.
“I say that the allegations made by the petitioner against Vilasrao Deshmukh, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Sunil Tatkare (Maharashtra Cabinet Minister) and others are being thoroughly investigated by CBI,” the affidavit filed on June 1 said.
The CBI has recorded statements of Mr. Deshmukh and Mr. Shinde in New Delhi last year during which both the Ministers denied having any role in the multi-crore housing scam.
The High Court had in the last hearing posted the matter to June 18 after the CBI said it would file its charge sheet in the case by June 15.

It has been more than two years since Adarsh investigation is on and Vilas Rao Deshmukh and Sushil Shinde are still ministers and enjoying. In Jagan Mohan Reddy's case CBI has arrested Jagan and CBI tried to freeze Jagan's business accounts and Jagan's media accounts. What a contrast?
CBI's credibility is ZERO and CBI acts as GOVT agents in suppressing political opponents who can not be won electorally.
