While the Jaipur Police are yet to reach a conclusion on the cause of death of Chetan Saini found hanging on the parapet of Nahargarh Fort here, the man’s family has demanded a high-level probe into the case. They claimed that the 40-year-old man was murdered.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Jaipur North) Satyendra Singh told reporters that the post-mortem had found “ante-mortem hanging” as the cause of death, indicating that it might be a case of suicide.

However, Chetan’s family has rejected the claim. Relatives blocked the road at Nahari Ka Naka in Shastri Nagar here on Sunday after a condolence meeting at his house.

They demanded that the police accept their written complaint and register a first information report for murder.

Some inflammatory messages, purportedly against the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmavati , were found scribbled on rocks and stones near the body found on Friday.

The police have been unable to infer how the deceased had obtained the nylon rope used for hanging, as a CCTV footage showed him walking empty handed towards the fort.
