Kolkata: A deserted look of Mahatma Gandhi Road in Burrabazar, the biggest wholesale and retail market in eastern region in Kolkata during the two-day nationwide strike called by the eleven Central Trade Unions, which has partially disrupted normal life. Many shops were seen open in residential areas but major wholesale and retail markets were deserted. A good number of State run buses and trams plied with very less passengers as the dwellers chosen the day as holiday. Though Andhra Pradesh's installed capacity has also reached 16,500 MW, the utilities are not able to utilise even 10,000 MW of capacity due to severe scarcity of fuel.
